Big L - re-appeared on 1395 kHz AM this afternoon, with a good signal from the transmitter site at Trintelhaven in the Netherlands. It's off-air from 1900-2200 BST during Albania's agreed use of the channel. There are some photos of the transmitter site on the Big L Forum. Sure enough they signed back on with London Calling at 2200 BST - good signal.

RSL - Heard over the past week on 87.7 MHz, Siemens Championships Radio covering the World Rowing Championship held at Dorney Lake, Eton. Overnight (all night) they had a short repeating voice ID loop which made IDing easy. Couldn't detect any RDS, probably due to the close attention of SKFM also still on 87.7 MHz from South Kilburn. Website World Rowing Championships

pirate - What was this station heard around the M5/A30 junction near Exeter last night on 104.0 ... ? HEAVENö2

Mark, that is our local pirate down here ps HEAVEN-2 keeps popping up on 104 now and again. Surprised Ofcom haven't shut it down before now, tx is somewhere in Topsham area of Exeter I think. (Mark P, Devon)

July 15, 2006

RSL - One of the other stations on 87.7 MHz in the past couple of weeks was "Radio Verulam" from Hemel Hempstead ... playing mostly oldies music (presumably automated overnight). Website Radio Verulam. So that's four stations on 87.7 all audible here. No wonder R Wimbledon barely got out of SW19.

June 25, 2006

RSL - WIMBLEDN RSL on 87.7 MHz. Fantastic bit of frequency planning going on this year ... Just about hear them east of Hangar Lane on the A40. But anywhere west of that, they're either smothered by a station in Hayes/Southall, and further out near the M25 by RADIOWEY. RDS is WIMBLEDN. Mind you 87.9 isn't exactly very usable either.

June 16, 2006

RSL - Cookham Summer FM coming in this morning on 87.9 in South Bucks PS: COOKHAM_ along with un-id Italians on 87.9 and 87.8 and Shine FM on 87.9 MHz. Curiously Cookham were radiating an EON flag on their RDS, and rather more annoyingly were radiating CT approx 1hr6min behind real time. Website Cookham FM. On-air from June 12th for 4 weeks.

June 14, 2006

RSL - Radio Wey FM (RSL from Weybridge in Surrey) came in this morning on the car radio on 87.7 MHz here in South Bucks ... very weak signal but the RDS RADIOWEY formed almost instantly. Website RadioWey. On-air from June 11th for 4 weeks.
